The Client

An Australian ecommerce store specialising in hampers and gifts approached us after experiencing a steady decline in organic traffic.

Despite strong products, the site was losing visibility due to misaligned keyword targeting, weak internal linking, and mobile performance issues.

The client needed an ongoing SEO strategy to recover traffic, improve rankings, and build momentum ahead of key seasonal Christmas period.

The Approach

Search Console & Data Analysis

We analysed performance using Google Search Console. This revealed where impressions and clicks were being lost and which pages needed attention.

Keyword Strategy Realignment

Pages were targeting broad, unrealistic keywords. We shifted focus to high-intent, achievable terms aligned with actual search behaviour.

Internal Linking Optimisation

Internal linking was improved to better support key collection pages. This helped distribute authority and strengthen rankings.

Mobile & Performance Improvements

Mobile usability and site speed issues were identified and addressed. This improved user experience and had impact on rankings.

On-Page SEO Enhancements

Key pages were optimised to improve relevance and better align with search intent, particularly across collection pages.

Ongoing SEO Execution

SEO work continued beyond the initial fixes. Pages were refined, performance was monitored, and the strategy evolved based on results.

The Result

Organic traffic increased from 145 to 972 daily clicks within a few months, reversing the decline and establishing strong upward growth.

Target keyword visibility improved from 23% to 57% within two months, reflecting significant ranking improvements across target terms. Keywords were tracked through SEMrush.

The site achieved top 1–3 rankings for competitive keywords such as Christmas hampers, Christmas gift hampers, and Christmas hampers Australia.

These rankings drove over 2,400 organic visitors to a key collection page during the festive period. With a 9.6% conversion rate, this resulted in approximately 235 sales and over $20,100 in revenue from organic search alone for that collection.

Alongside a high-performing PPC campaign, the combined impact contributed to approximately $1.5 million in total revenue for December 2025.

The Summary

This project started with reversing a downward traffic trend and quickly evolved into a scalable growth strategy.

By correcting keyword targeting, improving internal linking, and strengthening on-page and technical performance, the site regained visibility and built strong momentum in organic search.

As the campaign continues, the focus remains on expanding keyword coverage, strengthening authority, and capitalising further on high-performing categories to drive sustained growth.
